Situated within a place known for spectacular beaches, blue waters, sunny days and afternoon strolls, Mud Australia’s new Byron Bay location further emphasises the brand’s ethos of elevating the everyday. Located within Byron’s newest neighbourhood, Habitat, a seamless combination of residential, business and retail spaces provide the perfect invitation for new customers and returning Mud lovers.

The suburb of Habitat has been thoughtfully developed with solar panels, embedded energy networks and reused water. Combined with a curated collection of boutique brands, it is the ideal location for Mud Australia – a brand known for understated and timeless design. “Habitat’s vision closely aligns with our company’s environmental and social values, which made the process even easier,” explains Shelley Simpson, Founder and Creative Director of Mud Australia. Mud Australia’s continued working relationship with Melbourne-based DesignOffice saw the transformation of the existing retail space into a quiet yet personable store. With custom fixtures and memorable design, the store houses all of Mud Australia’s collections from dinnerware, cookware, home décor and lighting.

The interior design builds upon the existing language of Mud Australia – which has been cultivated across ten locations worldwide, including Sydney, New York and London – whilst also displaying the soft, coastal character that defines Byron. “I’m really happy to be opening out tenth store in Byron Bay,” says Shelley. “This is a beautiful and special part of Australia that means a lot to me and our family.”
