Basin by Archier
Designed as a collaboration between Archier and local Tasmanian ceramist Lindsey Wherrett, this Basin makes a feature of elegant curves. It’s smooth rounded shape retains the imperfections of it’s handmade origins, with unique variations in size and form only visible when you look ever so closely. A raised basin will always give a sophisticated edge and in regard to this design means an opportunity to fully appreciate the tonal surface. There is an earthy appeal to Archier’s basin, it’s subtle rawness forming the perfect contradiction to rigid lines of cabinetry and tiling grids in the surrounding bathroom.

Traditionally thought to be basic bathroom hardware, taps have come a long way by design standards. This ultra minimalist set from Wood Melbourne is a perfect example of highly considered and elegant design, transforming the ordinary to a statement fixture. Another collaborative project, this one is by local Melbourne studio Doherty Design and Grazia and Co. It’s eclipse like laser cut arc shape will offer a subtle reference to rounded basin designs or tapware, whilst creating a sense of space with it’s expansive width and reflection of light.
