Elsternwick 3 is a split-level addition to an original Edwardian House.
Located in Elsternwick, Melbourne, this seemingly average red brick Edwardian home on the outside, has been recreated on the inside, with a playful, yet contemporary tone throughout.
With the use of various materials and textures, in conjunction with the interior styling, local firm Pleysier Perkins fused together a unique mixture of contemporary style with modern fixtures.
The extension itself is modern, with plenty of open space, which captures an abundance of natural light throughout. Mixing together deep tones woods and bright whites, each space creates an open yet cosy feel throughout the house.
The house steps down the site towards the main living spaces to capture natural light opening up views to the sky. The house itself has been composed of two distinct elements, which are separated by a private courtyard.
Inside the original Edwardian part of the house, each space is filled with a playful contemporary design, which is both comfy and intriguing throughout.
The single storey section at the front respects the streetscape and incorporates the master domain with a study overlooking the front garden and bedroom opening to the courtyard. Whilst the rear two storey element, includes the living zones on the ground floor and children’s bedrooms upstairs.
Elsternwick 3 plays well with the idea of a contemporary luxury home, within a homey space of comfortability.
