The Architecture of Humanity: 2 Stories of Architects Transforming Lives through Design

RMIT’s Master of Disaster, Design and Development will host The Architecture of Humanity, a talk by architects Yasmeen Lari and Eric Cesal.

Pakistan’s first female architect and disaster relief expert, Yasmeen Lari will join Eric Cesal, the former Director of Disaster Reconstruction and Resiliency to discuss the practice of humanitarian architecture. Their work spans across divergent spatial and political geographies. Yasmeen and Eric will divulge insights into what working in this field entails.

For the first time in Australia, from Maningrida to Kabul, during ‘Humanitarian Architecture Week’ Yasmeen and Eric will explore the practice and projects of a wide group of individuals dedicated to improving human welfare through designing shelter and infrastructure in complex post-disaster and socially-marginalised communities.

Date and time: Wed, August 8, 2018, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM AEST
