Architecture on Show: Renovating Heritage Buildings

In partnering with the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) NSW Chapter, the Randwick City Council invites Andrew Nimmo, NSW Chapter President, to curate the Architecture on Show talk, Renovating Heritage Buildings, followed by a Q&A session.

Modern Heritage Matters’ Mandie Purcell will frame a discussion on how heritage cites can be altered in order to meet modern standards of lifestyle. Mandie will breakdown the meaning and criteria of heritage and how results can be achieved through the process of design. DM2’s Brad Muller will discuss standards of character, the use of materiality and expansion illrated through a live and recent example, the Greville Street residence in Clovelly. Brad will speak of the balance between heritage and modernity and how the later can be positively influenced from the framework of historical buildings.
