Sustainability in Residential Housing – Surf Coast Shire Council Chambers
In partnering with three Victorian councils, Deakin University School of Architecture and Built Environment and the Faculty of Science Engineering & Built Environment are initiating a research project on sustainability within residential housing. The event will focus on the response to sustainability measures and how to best initiate sustainability practices that can ultimately lead to success. The seminar aims to understand the barriers to adopting sustainable practices and further an understanding of strategies that can promote change based on public opinion.
The audience will make up four focus groups and incorporate the perspectives of both project builders and developers. Community needs, progress pathways and long term effects will be de discussed. The final product will be a concluded report available to conucils, participants and developers involved in the seminar.
Wyndham Shire Council, Hobsons Bay City Council and Surf Coast Shire will be the councils involved in the study.
