About
This year’s Sydney Architecture Festival explores the future of architectural ideas. Now in its 11th year, the festival will reveal some of the 20th-century icons that Australia is at risk of losing as Sydney is meet itset its new frontier. The festival will be held at 1PSQ for Western Sydney University, the first stage in one of Australia’s largest urban renewal projects at Parramatta Square.
Objectives of the Sydney Architecture Festival
Aiming to bring architecture and design out of the boardrooms and studios to those who experience it first hand, the Sydney Architecture Festival has partnered with the Architects Registration Board, Western Sydney University and the City of Parramatta to promote a better understanding of architecture across the community. They aim to work with partners and reach out to new networks who share their passion for architecture as a field that shapes the world around us.
As well as presenting the Festival each year, the NSW Architects Registration Board also promotes an understanding of architecture in the community by funding research, hosting talks and forums and partnering with organisations on projects relevant to increasing the public’s understanding of architectural issues.
The Board’s key role is to protect consumers of architectural services by ensuring that architects provide services to the public in a professional and competent manner, accrediting architectural qualifications and providing information to the government.

Festival events are deliberately small and aim to give you a close-up, intimate experience – so be quick to register because tickets are limited!
