Handcrafted Bespoke Textiles And Manufacturing In Melbourne And Turkey.

The story of Loom Towels starts with Mikala and a love affair for the intricate craft of hand looming that began in Turkey whilst she was still studying at university. Slowly but surely the business of Loom Towels came into fruition and today Mikala and her team are producing new designs every three months. Designs are limited from 30 to 150 pieces as the shuttle loom process determines the amount. There is a genuine romanticism behind the manufacturing process as time and precise detailing is given to every design. Loom Towels latest offering, Opal, features 20 unique colours and was designed after Mikala’s most recent trip to Turkey.

Just in time for Christmas Loom Towels have launched their very first pop up store. Clients will be provided with the opportunity to experience the understated beauty of the entire range and feel the amazing handcrafted fabrics. The idea for the temporary store came courtesy of Ben Edwards of Studio Edwards. Ben approached Mikala about the contemporary space in Collingwood and it immediately became evident that this was the perfect environment to showcase Loom Towels for the general public. Clients will immediately be taken in by the high ceilings and modern lighting features that define the space as they shop for the perfect Christmas present.
