TR 111 Pendant

Brand Tom Rossau
Designer Tom Rossau
Distributor Danish Red

The No.111 pendants are deeply rooted in Tom Rossau’s previous creations and are especially inspired by one of his first designs, the TR4. The striking yet welcoming sculptural expression of the No.111 pendant means that they can be easily placed in any room, bringing nature inside and giving the interior a remarkable warmth. The birch veneer forms a cornerstone at Tom Rossau, who is extremely aware of both design and the future of the planet.

Available in two heights, the No.111 lamp is designed and shipped flat-pack for assembly at your home, leaving the smallest possible footprint on the environment. At the same time, the user is invited to participate in the creation of the lamp at home and can play with the materials and shapes that help define Tom Rossau’s design universe. All the birch lamellae used for the lamps in the No.111 lamps are cut with a circular stroke, creating a rounded edge at each end, which helps to give this series its completely unique design language. Both on and off, the lamp retains its stylish appearance and contributes with a soft and delicate light.

About The Designer

Tom Rossau was born in Odsherred, Denmark, famous for its curvaceous landscape and the special play of light on the north-west coastline which has attracted artists for centuries.

Tom’s work is driven by the intriguing relationship between geometry, materials, and natural and artificial light. To him, the essence of a lamp lies in its transformation when switched on; the design must hold its own in natural daylight, but the real magic happens when the shape and material is lit from within. A self-proclaimed light

addict, Tom feels compelled to turn on the lights when entering a room, and is ever amazed by how both atmosphere and object are completely altered at the flick of a switch.

Even though many different lamp designs have been added and new materials have been used since the first design was launched 15 years ago, play and slats are still the cornerstone of the design company, Tom Rossau. This approach together with hand-making has also remained the central philosophy of the Tom Rossau design studio, which since 2012 has been located on Frederiksberg Allé in Copenhagen.
