Furniture & Lighting Design

Kieran Meegan and Rickie-Lee Robbie are the creative minds behind Idle Hands a furniture and product design workshop based in Melbourne, Australia.
Idle Hands began as a creative experiment for the pair who sought to combine Kieran’s boiler-making skills from years as a shipbuilder, with Rickie-Lee’s command of line as a printmaker. The result, are objects that embody a sense of calm through their artful simplicity, and whose form provides a thoughtful purpose – a clear function in the home.
A commitment to Australian manufacturing drives Idle Hands in all their work – from start to finish all products are Australian made and designed. By supporting Australian industries Idle Hands contribute to a culture that cultivates Australian creativity and innovation.
Idle Hands’ locally designed and made products can be purchased on The Local Project’s Marketplace which showcases and promotes the very best in local Australian furniture and product design. Idle Hands’ products can also be viewed at the Catapult Design showroom located in Pyrmont, Sydney.
