Tess Kelly is a commercial photographer based in Melbourne, Australia. She specialises in architecture, interior and still life photography.
Tess studied a Commercial Photography degree at RMIT, graduating in 2010. She currently works as a freelance photographer and is based at the Magic Johnston Studios in Collingwood.
The photographer’s understanding of her practice, both commercially and personally, is that it is a medium for documentation and creation. A medium that lends itself to narrative, insight, articulation, education and appreciation. Tess works closely with her clients to achieve strong, considered visuals that express a project or subject in a creative and informative way.
Tess’ aesthetic inspirations are often drawn from her time in Japan. A world she loves for its stunning and diverse landscapes, for its humble nature of people and customs and for its hub of thought provoking, minimal yet meticulous architecture and design.
Tess’ current clients range from architects and designers to local and international editorial magazines. Her work has featured in international magazines such as Elle Decoration, UK; Hauser, Germany; gb&d, Chicago; and Heren, Korea. Australian magazines include Country Style, Mezzanine, Green, The Block and Homelife.
