Harrison Interiors collaborated with local architect Geoffrey Woodstock to bring to life a young family’s home. Geoffrey’s vision for broadening the spatial offerings of the house was to create a link between the original single storey terrace and a separate building located at the block’s rear with a light-filled connecting corridor.
The approach to the interiors began with a subdued palette of dark timber floors and sandblasted oak joinery accentuated with clean whites. The front section of the house stays true to its heritage then moves through into an open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. Timber joinery and crisp white benchtops span the kitchen and dining, cohesively marrying the two areas.
The palette continues in the main bathroom and laundry, with some visual textural interest added with patterned floor tiles. The new wing houses the master bedroom and ensuite, where white panelling, raked ceilings and pale timber create a relaxed, minimal retreat for adults.
