We retained the front of this beautiful Edwardian-style house and improved the size and versatility of the rear by adding a double storey extension with the new landscaped area. Original weatherboard transitions back into the new materials of the extension, with white paint bringing aesthetic consistency to the brick, hit-and-miss brick, and timber shutters. Solid timber loops pop out to form well-lit window seats within the open-plan kitchen, living, and dining space. The second floor features a private balcony that spans across all three bedrooms.
We took advantage of natural light that awakens the east-oriented front bedrooms in the morning and travels to the rear of the property, providing the shared family rooms with northern and afternoon sunlight. Self-contained backyard contains a pool with the pool deck and outdoor shower, BBQ pod and secondary meals area, and garden section. The pool adjoins the kitchen and living room windows, elongating the look of the interior and minimising the need for pool fencing.
