Omaroo House
by Jade and Wes Roberts
Tucked in the suburb of Dandenong, Omaroo House is the home of product and design PR specialist Jade Roberts, together with her three daughters and husband Wes.
The cream and brown bricked home is a mid-century gem that was owned and built by a locally renowned builder in the 60s, who built mini versions of his home, each with the same signature features scattered around Dandenong and local surrounds. Prior to their renovation, the 1960s home had undergone previous upgrades with hallmarks of all the decades, which Jade and Wes have worked hard to remove and restore back to their original glory. At the same time, the pair restructured the floor plan to fit a more modern, open-plan living style. As Jade puts it, Omaroo House ‘is the job that never ends’, and while they self-managed most of the project, they out-sourced to Design Orr Build when needed. As the founder of raraPR, a PR agency dedicated to supporting creative small business, it’s no wonder Jade’s home is filled with artwork, furniture and objects handmade by local artists and designers.
