Reimagining Workplace Boundaries – Stylecraft at Salone del Mobile
During this year’s Milan Design Week, Stylecraft launched a curated selection of brands and products at Salone del Mobile, showcasing contemporary designs inspired by sustainability, comfort and practicality. Motivated by current cultural and lifestyle shifts, brands explored different ways to marry home and work life.
For over 65 years, Stylecraft has been offering contemporary products that transcend interior spaces. This year, as Salone del Mobile celebrated its 60th anniversary, Stylecraft presented an array of designs for residential and commercial settings that reimagined traditional workplace boundaries.
Arper – a leading Italian company renowned for chairs, tables and furnishings for both work and home – presented its own interpretation of future trends. Blending work and home life with a contemporary flair that speaks to seamless flexibility, the brand’s exhibition prioritised fluidity and workplace positivity. Reminiscent of an industrial urbanity, Arper’s Aeeri sculptural table champions a ‘less is more’ approach and is defined by its metal legs and single sheet of steel top. Contrastingly, the Ghia table is soft and tactile, drawing from organic shapes and earthy hues to imitate the natural environment and imbue a sense of harmony.
Bold and bright, the selected pieces from Artemide combine both technology and sustainability, seeing the light products range from effortless grandeur to simple and sleek. SeleS is a double-sided mirror with a continuous light source throughout, illuminating the environment without invading it, whilst Veil – Designed by Bjarke Angels Group (BIG) – falls elegantly and softly, defined by fabric weight and materiality but with a striking impact.
In keeping with an integrated approach, Prostoria presented a collaboration with Benjamin Hubert, Founder of London-based design agency LAYER. Exploring the limits of space, Prostoria’s new grand modular sofa systems can be tailored to the taste of the user and the physical space provided in both commercial and residential environments. Distinguished by discreet and functional additions, both the Rostrum and the Sabot boast versatility and practicality, offering friendly silhouettes and integrated power supplies.
Tacchini reimagines where we live, work and play. The brand’s latest releases at Salone del Mobile were staged by Lorenzo Bini of Binocle Studio; a main feature was the rediscovery of the Le Mura sofa, a classic design by Mario Bellini, which was originally released in 1972. Maintaining the timelessness of the iconic design, the sofa allows for infinite configurations to suit any environment it occupies. For Milan Design Week, the Le Mura sofa was presented in the Cinema Tacchini exhibition project, curated by Formafantasma, and exhibited as modular compositions of relaxation islands.
Originally established in Melbourne, Stylecraft has developed into a global venture, presenting the latest selection of products and brands at Salone del Mobile. Each piece aims to redefine what it means to work in a modern-day environment, one product at a time.
