House 6 by Welsh + Major Architects represents the selective replacement of elements to the rear of an existing terrace house in the inner city of Sydney.
Through their design Welsh + Major provide 6 square metres of additional space and the creation of a series of flexible spaces that respond to the lifestyle needs of the occupants.
The massing of the house was treated as an oversized still life design. The careful selective replacement of existing design elements has been successful in creating a composition where the new work engages seamlessly with the pre-existing spaces of the old terrace house.
