Global award-winning leaders in luxury carpets and rugs, the design-led collective TSAR is renowned for unique, custom-made carpets for residential, commercial and hospitality spaces. TSAR designs draw inspiration from elements as important as the sky and as quotidian as speckled concrete on the sidewalk.

Specialists in bringing clients’ vision to life, TSAR Carpets advances customisable designs to suit any residential space. TSAR focuses on quality craftsmanship, shown through the opening of its own manufacturing house in Europe. The company’s in-house and skilled artisans excel in creating distinctive carpets and rugs by hand that reflect their meticulous design process, whilst fibres and products are continually tested to ensure superlative quality. Conscientious throughout the entire production process, TSAR maintains total control from start – including the dyeing of yarns from 100 per cent New Zealand wool – to finish. A hand tufting method is used to construct the rugs and carpets, which allows for richness and depth of pile and greater texture flexibility compared with alternative techniques.

Specialists in bringing clients’ vision to life, TSAR Carpets advances customisable designs to suit any residential space.

Experts at catering to a brief, TSAR takes an extremely hands-on approach, from fibre selection to colour matching. The team works closely with their clients to both capture their needs and the function of the product. “We take pride in making sure that the fibre and the materials used are suitable for any outcome,”  Depending on the project, the TSAR team will make design suggestions for the space, whether it be a living room, bedroom and anything in between. Though quality and durability are emphasised, TSAR transcends practicality with statement pieces that are as artistic as they are functional. The process always starts with the client’s vision, with TSAR able to be brought on board at any stage in the project.

In addition to fulfilling custom briefs, TSAR creates in-house collections and also works with architects and designers on collaborative collections. The Passage Collection, designed in collaboration with architect and interior designer Brooke Aitken of Brooke Aitken Design, beautifully reflects humans’ inherent desire to mark time. Inspired by a vivid dream, Brooke sketched her vision, which was brought to life in partnership with TSAR in the form of carpets that, like the ebb and flow of time, are imbued with a sense of movement and placemaking. Similarly conceptual, TSAR’s Forma Collection is an expansive series of floor coverings that feature unique textures, colour combinations and energetically-inspired patterns. Drawing from ancient textures and traditional patterns, reinterpreted with a contemporary sensibility, the collection is daring and captures the beauty of raw, unbridled nature that often catches one off-guard.

“We take pride in making sure that the fibre and the materials used are suitable for any outcome,” Teresa Ceberek from TSAR Carpets says.

With a versatility that allows for designs that range from a minimalist, understated approach to full-bodied palettes and unconventional shapes, each collection tells a story and is designed specifically to enhance the space where it will eventually reside. Whether a space needs a practical solution or a statement addition, TSAR’s high-performance production process and custom designs are designed to deliver the ideal solution.
