Transformer
by Breathe Architecture

Transformer by Breathe Architecture is a commercial project located in the Victorian suburb of Fitzroy. The site was originally and electrical transformer factory and Breathe have incorporated numerous aspects of the original building into their design.
Existing layer of the buildings past have been maintained, including a small courtyard covered in ivy, a courtyard that became key to the buildings design as Breathe decided to extend the experience of the garden inside.
The garden and the shed became the two defining elements of the new design. Texture and low-tech simplicity provide all the hallmarks of a classic Breathe Architecture building. The material palette is made up of a collection of simplistic materials common to a garden environment.
