M4 House
by Georgia Cannon
The M4 House interior design project is a stunning example of stylish local home interior design.
The M4 House by local Australian interior designer Georgia Cannon and her team is the transformation of a neglected warehouse apartment into a beautiful inner-city haven for a mother and son combination to reside within. A fresh coat of paint was applied throughout the apartment along with the installation of new carpet, window furnishings and stylistic industrial lighting.
The client’s preference for natural ventilation, even during hot Queensland summers, predicated the installation of ceiling fans along with plantation shutters that allow views from the street to be mitigated whilst encouraging airflow. The existing kitchen was removed and replaced with a new kitchen design. Finishes were selected to help bring light into the depth of the apartment and floor to ceiling storage takes advantage of the high ceilings provided by the heritage listed shell. New furniture and stylist artwork was selected to blend seamlessly with existing pieces.
A quote from the satisfied owner of the M4 House.
” It’s the epitome of inner city living – spacious yet compact. Georgia was able to create multiple living spaces within the two bedroom flat by incorporating distinct dining and living areas as well as a TV nook. She also managed to bring the outside in with clever use of curtains and greenery. There isn’t a day I don’t wake up and look out into my leafy courtyard or arrive home after a long day from work and just pinch myself that this is now home.”
