Elevated Waterfront Living – Bianca by SJB
Drummoyne, located in Sydney’s inner west, will soon be welcoming extravagant waterfront residences on Wolseley Street – called Bianca. With unparalleled views, the project is the collaborative effort of SJB, prominent Sydney property developer Central Element (CE) and joint venture partner Develotek – their combined output setting a new standard for luxe living in the area.
Following a considered selection process, CE has appointed the iCIRT certified and renowned Sydney construction company Trescon to bring the creative vision for Bianca to life. The Bianca residences will consist of 12 three- and four-bedroom homes located on an elevated site on the northern edge of Drummoyne’s peninsula. Bianca leverages its waterfront location while referencing its close vicinity to the CBD through a considered design approach. The build will include two components – one on Wolseley Street, set along the ridge with views of the harbour and the city’s skyline, and another north-facing structure on the foreshore. Each home is designed to evoke a sense of retreat and immersion in the stunning locale, with open plan living and dining areas flowing out to oversized balconies that overlook the water.
The project is the result of an inspired collaboration. With over 30 years of experience, Central Element brings together the expertise of three industry experts: Wayne Chivas, Shane Smollen and Nathan Chivas, each having a portfolio of luxury developments, including residential, mixed-use and hotels throughout Sydney. Similarly, Develotek is a property development and investment group that specialises in the creation of exceptional living experiences, which is an ideal fit for Bianca, while multi-disciplinary architecture and design firm SJB will lead the creative vision.
In response to the surrounding views, the design of Bianca offers a sophisticated oasis that reflects Sydney’s approach to inner-city living. The materiality and interior palette are grounded in neutral, muted tones that are reminiscent of a quintessential coastal aesthetic, using solid materials such as travertine to reinforce a sense of timelessness and complement the elegant brickwork on the façade. Inside, expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing and large, open rooms imbue a spacious quality and opulence within. Amenities include lift access from the car park, double garages and storage rooms, individual wine cellars and outdoor entertaining areas featuring sunlit gardens, lawns, an outdoor swimming pool and direct access to the water.
SJB Principal Adam Haddow says, “We are thrilled to be working on yet another remarkable project with CE. With Bianca, we endeavour to create a home completely connected to its location. The architecture is in response to the site’s unique topography, with individual rooms and openings adjusted to ensure that views and privacy are maximised.” Nathan Chivas, the Managing Director of Central Element, also says, “This rare opportunity reflects our vision of seeking out exceptional sites in premium suburbs to build luxurious living spaces of the highest quality. Offering the epitome of premium waterfront living, unparalleled views, and the convenience of a six-kilometre drive or 18-minute ferry to the city, we are expecting record sales as Bianca launches to market.”
Signifying Central Element’s expansion to the inner west of Sydney, Bianca eloquently responds to its location. Bianca is now open for expressions of interest, and the build is expected to commence in early 2024.
