The Marteen sofa is a multi-functional seating and storage system introducing harmony with perfectly balanced volumes, in an alternation of solids and voids. Low and wide, create your own island of seating, storage and tabletops to satisfy the most dynamic interpretations of space, in full awareness of the continuous evolution taking place in the world of living. Linear forms, 360-degree seating configurations, and discreet drawers for functional storage are key features of the dynamic Marteen system which includes sofa seating modules, ottomans and coffee tables.
Multiple configurations and sizes available, contact Molteni&C Melbourne or Sydney showrooms for options and specifications.
Vincent Van Duysen was born in 1962, in Lokeren, Belgium and graduated in architecture at the Higher Institute of Architecture Sint-Lucas, in Ghent. From 1986 to 1989 he worked in Milan and Brussels. He opened his own studio in Antwerp, in 1990 focusing on architecture and interior design. The relationship between interior design and architecture in his work is profound. Furnishings and accessories are designed with an architectural perspective that is not limited by form, but is expressed with a careful perception of interior space and its relationship to the exterior architecture. By interpreting architecture and redefining its proportions, Van Duysen creates objects of great purity and simplicity that still retain a concrete character and solid form.
The Marteen sofa is available in a range of unique customisable configurations with or without storage. Coffee tables and ottomans available separately. Modules can be arranged to create dynamic seating arrangements, including 360-degree settings. Customise to fit your space, add cushions and select from the wide range of premium Molteni&C exclusive fabrics and leathers.
