The Blevio table by Ignazio Gardella, part of Molteni&C’s Heritage Collection, is a timeless masterpiece first designed in 1930 for Gardella’s family home, Villa Usuelli on Lake Como. This elegant table features a unique structural design with vertical supports linked to the tabletop through two elements, creating a refined play of counter curves that emphasizes continuity. Originally coated in copper, Molteni&C’s Research and Development Center updated it with a special metal powder varnish for durability while retaining its artisanal shine. An alternative version includes a luxurious Breccia Capraia marble slab, adding to its contemporary appeal.
Respecting Gardella’s original proportions, the table’s height has been adjusted to 74cm to suit modern dining standards. This thoughtful adaptation ensures that the Blevio table remains true to its historical essence while meeting today’s functional needs. Winner of the Wallpaper* Design Awards 2023 in the ‘Best Silhouettes’ category, the Blevio table stands as a testament to Gardella’s lasting influence on Italian architecture and design, making it a cherished addition to any sophisticated interior.
