Introducing Fomu’s Latest Releases
Fomu has unveiled ten new additions to its collection, which seamlessly blend sustainable materials with refined craftsmanship. Each piece balances aesthetic beauty with practicality, reflecting the studio’s commitment to responsible design.
Founded in 2017 by Gabrielle Beswick and Andrew Beveridge, Fomu is known for creating furniture that fosters a poetic connection between people and spaces. Based in Melbourne and Tasmania, the studio prioritises ethical practices, using sustainably sourced materials like FSC-certified timber and eco-friendly fabrics such as bouclé and recycled wool. Every piece is designed and made in Australia, supporting local craftsmanship while contributing to a more sustainable future.
Fomu’s 2024 collection pushes boundaries with its exploration of new materials and forms, embodying the studio’s ethos of merging art and design. Each piece evokes a deeper connection between people and the spaces they inhabit.
The Noun lounge chair, crafted from American oak, draws inspiration from the simplicity of a noun; just as a word defines, this chair becomes a focal point in any space. Its broad arms offer comfort and utility, serving as a resting spot for a book or coffee, and reflects Fomu’s philosophy of thoughtful, functional design.
The Frame collection expands with the introduction of American oak, bringing natural warmth to the clean, architectural lines that define this series. The Frame chair II, Frame stool II and Frame counter and bar stools II are versatile additions, designed for both compact and spacious interiors. This collection also marks a new chapter as Fomu shifts to in-house production in Tasmania, deepening their commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Rounding out the range is the Art collection, where sleek stainless-steel frames meet refined upholstery. The Art dining chair and Art counter and bar stools bring a modern edge to dining spaces, merging form and function in true Fomu style, elevating the dining experience while ensuring comfort.
