Cosentino’s new Dekton Pietra Edition, an ultra-compact porcelanic surface inspired by classic Mediterranean stones, is now available in Australia.

With the colours and textures of the ancient, ageless stones of the Mediterranean as inspiration, the Dekton Pietra Edition by Cosentino is now available in Australia. The ultra-compact porcelanic surface is an extension of the Dekton Pietra Kode range, created by the Argentinian-born, American-based designer Daniel Germani and launched in February 2023.

“I am proud to continue my collaboration with Cosentino to bring the Pietra Edition to designers, architects and homeowners as a surface that is both timeless and innovative.”

“Pietra Edition is the new journey to the origin of Mediterranean architecture already started with Pietra Kode,” says the designer. “I am proud to continue my collaboration with Cosentino to bring the Pietra Edition to designers, architects and homeowners as a surface that is both timeless and innovative.”

Germani has adapted both the aesthetics and intricate detailing of classic southern European stones like travertine, Piacentina, Ceppo di Gré, Campaspero and Crema Marfil for Pietra Edition (pietra is Italian for ‘stone’), improving on nature by creating a technologically advanced product that is resistant to UV rays, scratches, stains and thermal shock.

Durable, long-lasting and with very low water absorption, Dekton products are ideal for myriad applications, from facades and benchtops to paving and cladding.

Pietra Edition comes in six subtle, calming colourways that are designed to bring warmth to any interior or exterior space. They are: Trevi, a cream streaked with veins of grey and blue and inspired by classic travertine; Ava, reflecting the tone and texture of Ceppo di Gré; Sandik, where the Spanish Crema Marfil marble is reconsidered as a smooth surface, dotted with hints of grey; Nebu, another interpretation of travertine, with striking irregularities in colour; Adia, in silky cream with soft white lines; and Polar, a beige stone with a smooth finish, its cream base accented with grey.

Like all of Cosentino’s Dekton ranges, the Pietra Edition is manufactured from a sophisticated mixture of minerals using Sinterised Particle Technology (TSP) and a unique ultra-compaction press process. Durable, long-lasting and with very low water absorption, Dekton products are ideal for myriad applications, from facades and benchtops to paving and cladding.

All Dekton colours incorporate between 15 and 85 per cent recycled materials from the production process.

The products also reflects the company’s commitment to sustainability, with all Dekton colours incorporating between 15 and 85 per cent recycled materials from the production process.
