Introducing the Traxedo
Precisely cut bespoke tailoring meets the comfort of loungewear in the Traxedo, a whiskey-inspired, limited-edition collaboration designed for stylish nights at home.
Dress codes and occasion wear have evolved at a rapid clip over the past century, with lines blurring between leisure- and workwear. Yet, some garments haven’t evolved beyond their original intent: by the large, tracksuits remain slouchy and housebound, while suiting is often stiff and reserved for formal occasions and the office. But a new collaboration between whiskey maker Woodford Reserve and Miles Wharton and Rami Mikhael of luxury tailor The Bespoke Corner is uniting these two styles into one with the Traxedo. This one-of-a-kind, limited-edition design is made for stylish nights in, and nods to the increasing number of us choosing a night at home over heading out.
The Traxedo marks Woodford Reserve’s entrance into the fashion world as well as its first Australian design collaboration. Inspired by whiskey, the piece blends the comfort of leisurewear with the careful tailoring and precision cut of suiting. Made from soft wool jersey and whiskey-hued Dormeuil fabric – woven with Egyptian cotton in Italy – it boasts a deconstructed jacket with a shawl lapel, referencing a classic tuxedo, and a trouser with deconstructed hems and an elasticated drawstring for ultimate ease of wear. “For me, nothing beats a good bourbon on the couch on a winter’s night in – so when Woodford Reserve came to us with this campaign, it felt like a perfect fit,” says Rami Mikhael of the partnership.
The Traxedo is a manifestation of all that Woodford Reserve stands for: heightened style and serious substance. “The Traxedo is the perfect embodiment of that ethos: refined yet relaxed, elevated but unexpected, just like the perfect night in,” says Jessica Beater, Woodford Reserve senior brand manager at Brown-Forman, the brand’s parent company.
“The Traxedo blends the precision of bespoke tailoring we at The Bespoke Corner are known for with the ease of loungewear.”
This singular design – priced at $2,000 – brings swagger to cosy nights at home as Australians settle in for trans-seasonal weather. It’s made to measure via appointment only at The Bespoke Corner’s Melbourne and Sydney boutiques. Along with an individual fitting experience, customers will enjoy a Woodford Reserve signature cocktail served in-store, and take home a gift bag that includes a Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Cocktail Kit and a limited-edition bottle of Woodford Reserve to sip while wearing their new threads.
“The Traxedo is a one-of-a-kind piece we’ve never attempted before, blending the precision of bespoke tailoring we are known for with the ease of loungewear,” says Miles Wharton of the collaboration.
Though the partnership is an Australian-first for Woodford Reserve, the small-batch whiskey brand has a rich history of craftsmanship that balances heritage with modern practices. It’s distinctive spirits are produced in Versailles, Kentucky, at the Woodford Reserve Distillery, where fine bourbon has been made since 1812. The spirit is distilled from 72 per cent corn, 18 per cent rye and 10 per cent malted barley, resulting in a deeply flavoured bourbon whiskey.
