Tongue & Groove launches the first of its Co.Lab series, the Bosco Collection by Australian interior designer Greg Natale.

Co.Lab is a new initiative by  Tongue & Groove, Australia’s leading producer of European oak flooring. The series of collaborations brings together the brand’s renowned precision engineering and the visionary minds of some of the world’s most celebrated creatives. The first collection in the Co.Lab series is Bosco, crafted in partnership with globally recognised Australian interior designer Greg Natale.

Crafted from Tongue & Groove’s signature three-layer solid European oak board structure, Bosco showcases intricate patterns engineered with meticulous precision.

Bold and distinctly modern, the collection transforms parquetry with movement, curvature and fluidity, departing from traditional geometric formats. Inspired by Natale’s Italian heritage and mid-century European interiors – particularly Milanese and Parisian entryways of the 1950s to 1970s – the range channels the rhythm and refinement of classic tilework into timber, marrying heritage with modernity to create something unexpected yet timeless.

Crafted from Tongue & Groove’s signature three-layer solid European oak board structure, Bosco showcases intricate patterns engineered with meticulous precision, ensuring durability, authenticity and exceptional quality. The collection features five signature patterns: Ada, Albini and Asti, which reinterpret chevron and herringbone designs with organic, wave-like curves; Piero, a bold geometric design with refined symmetry and a structured, tile-like pattern; and the architectural Andreani, where striking pentagonal shapes create a captivating geometric composition. Depending on finish and colour, you can create a subtle, textural effect or a bolder, more dynamic statement.

“Parquetry has always been about repetition and structure. I wanted to disrupt that by introducing curves, undulations and sculptural elements.”

Natale describes Bosco as “taking something classic and giving it a bold, modern twist”. Pattern, movement and materiality are central to his approach. “Parquetry has always been about repetition and structure,” he says. “I wanted to disrupt that by introducing curves, undulations and sculptural elements. Flooring should be as expressive as tile, marble or carpet.”

It’s a highly auspicious beginning for the Co.Lab series, which transforms floors from mere surfaces into canvases for design innovation. As Australia’s first luxury timber brand to introduce designer-led collections, Tongue & Groove is challenging conventions by combining technical mastery with avant-garde thinking, producing floors that are both expressive and enduring. Each collection reflects its designer’s unique creativity as well as setting new standards around what can be achieved with timber.

“It’s about pushing the boundaries of what flooring can be, giving visionary talents a platform to bring their artistry to life,” says Richard Karsay, CEO of Tongue & Groove. “By aligning Co.Lab with globally acclaimed creative icons, we aim to not only set new standards of luxury but also to redefine the essence of what flooring can represent.”

Looking ahead, the company will continue to collaborate with celebrated creatives for the groundbreaking series. A range created by London-based design duo Raw Edges has just launched, and will be followed by collections from Academy Award-winning Catherine Martin and Australian designer Yasmine Ghoniem of YSG.
