Gold Coast furniture retailer and interior design studio Kira & Kira has opened a new showroom in Burleigh Heads, the perfect embodiment of the brand’s approachable coastal aesthetic.

For 10 years, Gold Coast-based multidisciplinary interior design studio and retailer Kira & Kira has elevated spaces with its considered approach. As it moves into the next decade, Kira & Kira has opened a second location – a new showroom in Burleigh Heads that beautifully embodies the studio’s aesthetic: authentic, approachable and with a true appreciation of natural materials.

The immaculately curated Burleigh Heads Showroom will appeal to design-savvy consumers who are increasingly seeking meaning in the pieces they buy.

Like the brand’s original Miami Beach space, the immaculately curated Burleigh Heads Showroom will appeal to design-savvy consumers who are increasingly seeking meaning in the pieces they buy, with an emphasis on quality over quantity.

The showroom is equal parts retail experience and creative hub, with a gallery space for local artists co-mingling with a design studio and the furniture and homewares. Clients are immersed in the Kira & Kira experience from the moment they step foot in the door, able to explore the materials library and talk with the in-house design team. The expanded range includes pieces not available at the Miami Store.

Simone and Grason designed the space to reflect the company’s ethos, merging clean lines, layers of texture and a European sensibility.

Kira & Kira founders Simone and Grason Kira have used their refined curatorial eye to present a stellar range of furnishings by local and international designers, from pared-back pieces by New Zealander Cameron Foggo to timeless works by Sydney-based Patryk Koca for Tolv. Another highlight is the selection of original art by the likes of Jai Vasicek, Georgie Wilson, Yolan Eke, Tania Blanchard, Claudio Kirac, Bec Talbot, Jay Feather and Vynka Hallam, as well as works by emerging artists.

Simone and Grason designed the space to reflect the company’s ethos, merging clean lines, layers of texture and a European sensibility. The result is sophisticated but inviting, radiating warmth and a sense of home.

Every element is carefully considered, from the custom lighting rails and oak veneer walls to custom leather handrails and French windows and doors.

Grason – whose background is in furniture design – handcrafted the fit-out with creative direction from the in-house interior design team. Every element is carefully considered, from the custom lighting rails and oak veneer walls – which establish intimate pockets in the large-scale space – to custom leather handrails and French windows and doors. The onyx kitchen counter with waterfall edges and a floating staircase with sandstone steps that leads to the mezzanine level further reflect the studio’s appreciation of contemporary refinement. Tactility is also foundational to the design: travertine tiles bring an organic feel, while the weave of sisal carpets imbues the space with a warm texture.

Beyond immersing themselves in the art, homewares and furniture, customers can also bring their dream project to life with the assistance of the Kira & Kira Interior Design and Styling Studio. This offers the opportunity to consult one-on-one with the team, working collaboratively on concepts and exploring the tactile elements of a design.

Kira & Kira’s Burleigh Showroom not only encapsulates the studio’s distinctive philosophy and creative capabilities: it’s also an opportunity to pause and connect with craft that is deeply considered and singular in its intention.
