From its base on Queensland’s Gold Coast, ABI Interiors has built a reputation for bringing considered design to the rituals of daily life. What began as a desire to create accessible, design-driven fixtures for the kitchen, bathroom and laundry has evolved into a global operation defined by precision, purpose and care. Today, each ABI piece tells a story shaped by process – revealing how things are made, not just simply where.

Every product begins in-house in Australia, where the brand’s research and development team of industrial designers balance form and function with an emphasis on life span.

Every product begins in-house in Australia, where the brand’s research and development team of industrial designers balance form and function with an emphasis on life span. Concepts are developed through years-long partnerships with specialist manufacturers across China’s key production regions, many of whom have collaborated with ABI since its inception more than a decade ago.

Unlike the anonymous model of outsourced production, ABI maintains direct oversight through its 90-strong team on the ground in Guangzhou, supported by its own facility in Zhongshan. There, physical vapour deposition (PVD) – an advanced colouring method that bonds metal at a molecular level – is carried out under the brand’s management to ensure consistency and durability across every finish.

Tapware undergoes more than 80,000 cycles of use to replicate decades of daily interaction, alongside abrasion and salt-spray tests to verify resistance to wear and corrosion.

Behind each collection lies a commitment to rigorous testing that extends well beyond industry norms. Tapware undergoes more than 80,000 cycles of use to replicate decades of daily interaction, alongside abrasion and salt-spray tests to verify resistance to wear and corrosion. Every piece is then physically inspected up to six times before being packaged, first by the supplier and again by ABI’s own team, ensuring that only flawless products reach the end user. This dual quality-control practice, coupled with international certifications across Australian, New Zealand and United Kingdom standards, reinforces a philosophy that craftsmanship is not a claim but a continuous discipline.

Equally integral to ABI’s approach is the material journey. Brass, stainless steel and stone are selected for their resilience and refined tactility, while innovations such as Antique PVD finishes and modular systems like Infiniti, Modi and Aliro demonstrate how design thinking can evolve alongside the way people live. These developments are not gestures of novelty but refinements born of observation and engineering.

The result is a collection of objects that transcend trends – fixtures conceived to be handled, lived with and relied upon.

Sustainability forms a quiet undercurrent in this technical ingenuity. By prioritising longevity, ABI – which is carbon neutral – reduces waste and supports a circular mindset so that all of its fixtures perform with minimal environmental impact. Its use of recyclable packaging, eco-friendly finishing techniques and transition to lead-free materials further reflects a dedication to lasting value rather than short-term consumption. The result is a collection of objects that transcend trends – fixtures conceived to be handled, lived with and relied upon.

In an industry often defined by surface appeal, ABI Interiors invites a closer look beneath the finish. Through transparency and relentless iteration, the brand continues to prove that human-centric design begins long before it meets the home – in the unseen processes that ensure it endures beautifully.
