Acratex: New-Gen Finishes
Dulux’s Acratex range reflects the design community’s embrace of natural finishes, deeply tactile surfaces and expressive detail.
For architects and designers seeking coating solutions where functionality and aesthetics are equally considered, Dulux’s Acratex range may provide the ideal solution. Designed for both internal and external use, Dulux Acratex includes a considered suite of finishes that enable seamless continuity across texture, colour and materiality.
“High-performance, multi-functional and sustainable finishes now play an integral role in architectural expression,” says Georgina Raudon, marketing manager of the Dulux Acratex range. “Architects and designers are moving away from monolithic facades in favour of layered, mixed-material compositions that introduce depth, rhythm and visual nuance.
“We’re seeing a growing focus on seamless indoor-outdoor connectivity, with finishes and textures extending across thresholds to create cohesive, fluid living environments. From a colour perspective, palettes are becoming more grounded and restrained. Earthy neutrals, mineral tones, soft beiges, taupes and greys dominate, selected for their ability to respond to light, landscape and climate.”
The Dulux Acratex collection responds to those shifts with on-trend finishes including concrete AcraStone; a Venetian Plaster range; textured Roll-On iterations, such as Mediterranean Classique, Tuscany Fine and Marmarino Naturale in limestone, travertine and other natural stone textures; and AcraShield Concrete, whose smooth, slightly dappled aesthetic draws from both traditional Venetian plaster techniques and modern concrete aesthetics. “The range provides architects and designers with a singular destination to explore finishes that bring material depth, architectural clarity and long-term performance to the built environment,” Raudon says.
Dulux Acratex extends its applications with roofing, waterproofing and protective membrane systems such as AcraSkin, and cladding solutions, including the newly released StoneShield Cladding System.
