One of the country’s definitive design destinations, Decor + Design comes to Melbourne this winter for its 22nd edition, bringing together established brands, emerging talent and a growing conversation around sustainability. Co-located with the Green Design Show, the three-day event reflects an industry increasingly shaped by material innovation, thoughtful craftsmanship and future-focused design thinking.

Some 200 exhibitors will showcase the latest in furniture, lighting, textiles, art, surfaces and decorative objects, offering a broad snapshot of contemporary Australian and international design.

Running from 15 to 17 July at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, Decor + Design has long been Australia’s premier trade event for interiors. More than 10,000 design professionals are expected to attend this year, from residential and commercial interior designers to architects, retailers and specifiers. Across the exhibition floor, 200-plus exhibitors will showcase the latest in furniture, lighting, textiles, art, surfaces and decorative objects, offering a broad snapshot of contemporary Australian and international design.

At the forefront of this year’s event is the evolving Green Design Show, now in its third edition. Positioned at the entrance to Decor + Design, the immersive showcase features a series of pavilions developed in collaboration with Melbourne-based firms including Topology Studio, Studio x Us, Up to Something and Green Sheep Collective. Together, they transform the space into a tactile exploration of the recycled, regenerative and low-impact materials currently reshaping the interiors sector.

The Green Design Show has been conceived as a journey through sustainable furniture, finishes and building materials, connected by an interactive Green Design Trail.

Rather than a traditional trade display, the Green Design Show has been conceived as a journey through sustainable furniture, finishes and building materials, connected by an interactive Green Design Trail. At its centre, the Green Design Hub hosts an ongoing seminar program supported by the Green Building Council of Australia, offering insight into emerging legislation, climate-responsive design and practical pathways towards more sustainable projects.

Decor + Design’s overarching theme this year is “FRESH!”, introducing a sense of optimism to the event, featuring vibrant references to the landscape, art, history and design of the South of France, with the expressive colour palettes of artists Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse informing the creative direction. The accompanying seminar program similarly embraces fresh perspectives, with keynote appearances from leading figures across design, fashion and architecture.

The event continues its long-standing support of young practitioners through the VIVID Emerging Designer Awards.

Fashion and design legend Karen Walker, interior designers Darren Palmer and Greg Natale, interior stylist Kerrie-Ann Jones and award-winning writer and critic Elizabeth Farrelly are key speakers in The International Seminar Series, which spans luxury interiors, publishing, urban resilience and contemporary Australian style.

The event also continues its long-standing support of young practitioners through the VIVID Emerging Designer Awards. Now in its third decade, the much-respected program has launched the careers of many Australian designers and remains a significant platform for new furniture, lighting and object design.

Additional features of Decor + Design 2026 including the Designer District, Texture textile pavilion, Surface Edit showcase of wallpapers, treatments, paints, art and photography, and the interactive Ready, Set, DESIGN! student challenge – all reinforcing the event’s established role as a premier industry showcase and creative meeting point.
