The result of a synergistic partnership between apaiser and YOO Studio London and named after the Swahili word for elephant, the new TEMBO range draws on the qualities the majestic animal represents across many cultures: wisdom, longevity and protection. Those influences are reflected in the materiality and proportions of the collection’s bathtubs and basins, which are defined by elongated silhouettes, smooth curves and solid yet graceful forms.

TEMBO also represents a significant milestone for both brands. It marks YOO Studio London’s first venture into product design, building on the practice’s international reputation for creating interiors that prioritise lifestyle and storytelling. For apaiser, it speaks to more than 25 years of craftsmanship and innovation in handcrafted stone bathware.

“Partnering with YOO Studio London on the TEMBO collection has been a powerful creative exchange, uniting apaiser’s sculptural DNA with YOO’s bold, global design vision,” says Belinda Try, founder of apaiser. “The result is a collection grounded in spatial sculpture and projecting calm authority.”

At the heart of the range is the TEMBO Two bath, a monumental freestanding bathtub characterised by an oval shape, elegant curves and two rounded feet. Inspired by the powerful stance of an elephant, the bath maintains a strong, weighty presence while also emanating a sense of serenity and balance.

This aesthetic continues with the freestanding basin, which features a rounded vessel atop a slender pedestal, creating an almost totemic silhouette. Alongside it, the oval and round basins offer a more compact interpretation, echoing the One bath’s flowing curves and solid footing in a design that feels shaped by time and touch. Completing the collection is the bath stool, designed to effortlessly complement both the bathtubs and basins.

Creating a range that contributes to a tranquil, sanctuary-like space was important to Claire Rizzi, design director at YOO Studio London. “We approached the collection as an extension of the space,” she says. “Each piece is designed to anchor a room, balancing sculptural presence with a quiet sense of restraint.”

At apaiser, every product is handcrafted by master artisans using apaiserMarble, the brand’s proprietary material, which is made from reclaimed marble. Available in a curated palette of 18 organic shades – including hues inspired by the Australian landscape such as Saltbush, Red-Earth and Ghost Gum – the material brings a rich and sumptuous quality to each design.

For apaiser – derived from the French verb meaning to calm or soothe – TEMBO is an exciting new addition to its family of timeless and refined bathware. The collection of sculptural objects is designed not just to occupy a room but also shape how it is experienced, creating moments of calm, reflection and restoration.
