With stunning architecture by Mason Bright and sublime interiors by Capital Luxury ResidencesAlissa Birch, Armorel is Gold Coast waterfront living at its most luxurious.

Defined by open-plan living and a timeless palette of materials, Armorel eloquently responds to its waterfront location to create a haven of elegance and comfort. A collaboration between Capital Luxury Residences (CLR) and Mason Bright architects – designer of all CLR’s homes – it embodies a cohesive and cultivated sense of grandiose luxury. “Armorel was really about merging Miami-style luxury homes, a location which has the same kind of climate as the Gold Coast, with the grandeur of five-star hotels,” says Alissa Birch, CLR’s CEO and Design Director, who is the home’s owner, builder and interior designer.

“We used a marble variety that we fell in love with at a hotel overseas … it’s never been used or named in Australia.”

Armorel’s façade is striking from the street – floor-to-ceiling windows, sleek lines and minimalist colour palette – but it is equally beguiling from the water. “We were lucky enough to have a large river-frontage and wanted to utilise every part of it,” Alissa says. Central to the design is a U-shaped alfresco area with a skylight above the firepit which drenches the house with light throughout the day. Travertine features heavily, designed to blend into the sand line below. Luxury amenities include a pool and spa, basketball court, lush gardens and an extensive outdoor kitchen.

Entering the home, you’re met with a spacious, open layout and a freestanding curved staircase. The northern wing houses the kitchen, with a stunning island, commercial-grade butler’s pantry and sleek European appliances by Wolf and Sub-Zero. On the second floor are five bedroom suites and a spacious master bedroom with views across the water, a walk-in designer wardrobe and resort-like ensuite. The palette and materiality both upstairs and down evoke sophistication and elegance. Marble features heavily throughout, with 320 square metres of book-matched marble bathroom tiles and a hand-carved marble bathtub in the main ensuite. “We used a marble variety that we fell in love with at a hotel overseas … it’s never been used or named in Australia,” Alissa says.

“The palette … allows the walls to melt away visually and to bring the amazing view inside as well as giving the hero features a platform to shine.”

Living rooms feature plush furnishings and exquisite fabrics, combined with a subtle, crisp and timeless palette heavily influenced by Miami style. “The palette creates a sense of brightness, spaciousness and modernity. It allows the walls to melt away visually and to bring the amazing view inside as well as giving the hero features a platform to shine,” Alissa says. The bedrooms are more minimal, prioritising comfort and quality. “By keeping the design clean and calm, it enables the focus to be on luxurious bedding, plush cushions and cozy textures.”

Fittings, finishes and amenities are high-end and bespoke, and include custom feature lighting and cabinetry, designed by Alissa. A stunning oversized kitchen island, created from a single piece of stone, serves as a focal point. “It makes a bold statement while seamlessly integrating with the overall aesthetic of the house,” says Alissa. “The gold accents are a touch of opulence and elegance.” Fluted legs add further visual interest. “The fluted design, characterised by vertical grooves or ridges reminiscent of sand banks in the ocean, gives the bench depth and a touch of architectural charm.”

“The staircase’s flowing, graceful lines create a sense of movement and fluidity, making it feel more like a work of art than just a functional element.”

The curved staircase is another architectural feature that adds grandeur to the home. “Its flowing, graceful lines create a sense of movement and fluidity, making it feel more like a work of art than just a functional element.” It acts as a centrepiece: breaking up areas and allowing natural light to filter through the space. “This play of light and shadows further emphasises the beauty of the staircase and its surroundings.”

Armorel, which won Best Waterfront Housing Development in this year’s PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Australia), is an elegant, timeless response to its stunning waterfront location, embodying a new realm of luxury living.
