This coming Sunday is another opportunity to buy original works by talented Australian creatives at Artbid’s dynamic livestreamed online art auction.

Artbid offers a unique proposition in the Australian art world: a livestreamed art auction – complete with auctioneer – featuring original works by a consciously curated selection of established and emerging artists, at prices that won’t break the bank. Add free shipping to most locations in Australia and certificates of authenticity that guarantee artworks are original and it’s understandable why the Artbid formula is proving so successful.

“We believe in the work we sell – if we can’t imagine it on our own walls, we won’t try to convince you to hang it on yours.”

The next Artbid auction, Radiant Expressions – Contemporary Australian Art, takes place this Sunday, August 18 and features 58 works by 36 artists, with starting bids from $250 and estimates topping out at $4000. Highlights of the August sale include Claudio Kirac’s Vanilla Twilight, part of a new series called Remember Your Light, a whimsical study of childhood joy; two abstract works by Kate Zarco, Green and Support, that feature graphic motifs reflecting the artist’s exploration of life’s challenges; and a sublime diptych, Josephina I & II, by Wendy Peters that features a kaleidoscopic depiction of tulips.

“Every artwork you see in an Artbid auction is an original piece that has been hand selected by our expert curators who work directly with some of Australia’s most exciting and talented artists,” says Artbid creative director Esti Frischling. “With an exceptional eye for high-quality art, we believe in the work we sell – if we can’t imagine it on our own walls, we won’t try to convince you to hang it on yours.”

The online catalogue features detailed descriptions of each of the works and the artist, along with the reserve and estimated price range, enabling potential buyers to work within their budget.  Once you register, there are plenty of options: you can create a shortlist of the works that catch your eye and make a bid on your favourites. If you’re not able to make the live auction, you can also place an absentee bid. (A 12 per cent buyer’s premium is added to the final price of the work, which is about half the industry standard.)

All of the works featured are ready to hang (either framed or on stretched canvas) and, regardless of size and weight, delivery is free to most Australian addresses. For those who live in exempt postcodes – which include remote parts of the country, along with Tasmania and the Northern Territory – Artbid provides a shipping quote prior to auction.

From the start of the process to the moment the live auctioneer’s gavel falls, the Artbid experience is designed to be seamless, accessible and dynamic, all taking place within the privacy of your home. Above all, it presents an opportunity to buy authentic original artworks by Australian artists both established and emerging. “We collaborate directly with talented artists, providing customers with unique, high-quality pieces that aren’t available anywhere else,” says Frischling. “And every piece of art sold on Artbid comes with a certificate of authenticity, ensuring buyers receive exactly what they see, crafted with the highest standards.”

Sunday’s auction begins at 5.30pm AEST and concludes at 8pm. Register here.
