Capturing a modern take on traditional bathing, Aurora Spa and Bathhouse offers a connected experience between thermal wellness and luxury accommodation. Located in Sorrento, this latest edition to the Continental Hotel redesign by Woods Bagot encourages guests to become immersed in a place of refuge and recovery.

Stepping inside, one encounters a gently lit subterranean sanctuary that is inspired by a 10-step ancient bathing ritual. Woods Bagot drew from the surrounding coastline and European bathing techniques to create an architectural response that balances a diverse range of treatments with therapeutic spaces. To achieve this, the materiality evokes a sense of connection to the design’s epicurean roots with terrazzo finishes and brass accents. Similarly, a copper-clad entry counter and copper-clad artworks were selected to reflect the metal’s antibacterial properties and positive associations with water.

Facilities include mineral pools, a cold plunge pool, a timber-lined sauna, steam room and more. Atmospherically removed from the busy world above, Aurora Spa and Bathhouse offers guests a tranquil place of retreat.
