Layered Richness – Beach House by Archi-Texture and EB Interiors
Beach House combines the best of coastal living with the refinement of an inner urban resolve. Archi-Texture and EB Interiors propose a layered home of vast proportions that is open to the outdoors whilst being a reclusive oasis.
A family home, Beach House in Cronulla effortlessly opens and closes to the surrounds. Spread over three levels, the home maximises the potential of the site by increasing the overall useable floor area. Stacking floor plates both delineates function and creates a sense of natural hierarchy and separation. As a reflection of an outdoor lifestyle, the structure embraces natural elements, allowing ventilation and access to sunlight throughout the day. Archi-Texture’s resulting home is layered with deliberation, seeing textures and textiles add a softness amongst the timber and masonry finishes.
In the construction of Beach House, the careful integration of built and natural elements was key in balancing openness and privacy. With two dedicated living areas, the home houses seven bedrooms, as well as facilities such as a cinema, gymnasium and pool. The ability for Beach House to grow and change significantly influenced how the home was designed.
A neutral palette of warm and muted tones sets the scene for a shared calm, contrasting the occupants’ lifestyles. The palette takes inspiration from the surrounding context, where texture and finishes are a reference to place, bringing the outside in. The home becomes the ideal display for collected artworks, lighting and furniture to balance the insertion of saturated colours and refined interior design.
