Inspired by the masters of Italian design, Cecconi’s Toorak offers sophisticated dining brought to life by architecture and interior design studio Travis Walton. Appropriately positioned in Melbourne’s most affluent suburb, the new sister restaurant to Cecconi’s Flinders Lane is a refined encounter with opulent materials and traditional Italian style.

After serving some of Melbourne’s finest Italian cuisine in Flinders Lane for more than 20 years, Cecconi’s partnered with Travis Walton to create an even more elevated and luxurious offering. Using local seasonal produce to create Cecconi’s signature Venetian-inspired dishes, the new location is in boutique Toorak Village.

Ideally located with leafy views over Toorak, Cecconi’s newest offering reiterates why it is a Melbourne dining institution.

The design features opulent marbles, fine brass inlays, bespoke timber cabinetry and hand-trowelled Venetian render evocative of classic Italian trattorias. After being greeted at the sculptural maître d’s desk, one passes under a striking glass chandelier and through a transportive red marble portal. Dark walnut timbers are contrasted by Carrara marble, cream travertine and brass detailing. The refined mood is further emphasised with small touches such as crisp white linen tablecloths to complete the sophisticated ambience. The spaces are intimately lit by a selection of glass and brass fixtures, including a custom floating Tronchi glass chandelier.

Ideally located with leafy views over Toorak, Cecconi’s newest offering reiterates why it is a Melbourne dining institution. Travis Walton’s modern take on the design paired with the cuisine of northern Italy proves to be a perfect match in this exceptionally elegant and comfortable dining setting.
