Since its beginnings in 1990, Cedar West has grown to become one of Australia’s leading suppliers of bespoke timber doors, windows and other timber architectural products.
For more than three decades, Cedar West has been crafting bespoke timber windows, doors and mouldings to the highest standards. Using experienced craftsmen in its own Australian manufacturing facilities, Cedar West combines traditional methods of production with cutting-edge technology to achieve an exceptional end result. The company’s extensive range of products, all marked by inspiring craftsmanship, include oversized entry pivot doors, which make a bold statement with their sleek modern lines, and stacking doors which can include flush thresholds and Centor screens to bring the outdoors in.
“Our new showroom boasts a detailed range of our stand-out products that clients can touch and see, to help them envision and to spark inspiration.”
Now, Cedar West has opened a second showroom, in Sydney’s Alexandria. “Our new showroom boasts a detailed range of our stand-out products that clients can touch and see, to help them envision and to spark inspiration,” says John Arnold, Cedar West’s General Manager. “We had a VIP opening night and it was a great success, with suppliers, customers, designers and architects all attending to show their support.”
Family-owned, Cedar West had its beginnings in Perth, and has been servicing the Sydney market for the past 15 years. It has worked with leading A&D firms such as Milieu Creative, Kerry Hill, Alexander and Co, Felton Studio and Tonkin Zulaikha Greer and on award-winning projects across the country, both residentially and commercially. These include supplying custom-made windows and curved timber mouldings for the refurbishment of the heritage Enex building in Perth, along with 400-plus heritage windows in the highly awarded COMO The Treasury hotel in the State Buildings in Perth’s CBD, evidence of the company’s ability to service large-scale projects of more than $2 million.
Other projects include Newcastle’s multi-award-winning East End redevelopment, for which Cedar West created 100 new timber windows with heritage-style features such as curves and arched hilites, intricate mouldings like fluted pilasters and dentil cornices, and bespoke doors with gun-stock stiles and bolection mouldings. “We have also been a part of many Australian award-winning residential projects with companies such as Zorzi, Giorgi, Palazzo Homes, Built, Richard Crookes Constructions, COWYN Building Group and more, a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence and quality product,” John says.
With a range of services to make the installation process faster and easier, Cedar West’s offerings include its pre-fitting service, which is both cost-effective and delivers a high-end product ready for painting and fitting. This service includes CNC Pre-machining – a process by which a state-of-the-art, five-axis CNC’s pre-machine intricately creates the necessary rebates for selected hardware. Additionally, there is an optional service of door hardware fitting with a team of specialists who fit handles, hinges and locks into products before being sent out. There is also a similar pre-fitting option for windows which includes factory glazing, sashes hung in frames and hardware installed. Moreover, customers can visualise their joinery in 3D with Cedar West’s advanced software that creates a model of the chosen joinery with customised measurements and details.
Cedar West’s showrooms in both Perth and Sydney provide suppliers, designers and architects with the perfect space to envision their next project.
