Celebrating the origins of the home in a Spanish Catalan modernist style, Allprace Homes layered Clyde with a considered curation of character-rich pieces that complete the narrative of the residence. The designers enhanced the traditional and nuanced craft integrated throughout using texture, warmth and natural connections.

In the centre of Culver City, California, Clyde is brought to life with enhanced original detailing and connections to its makers through a deliberately considered approach. Quaint and modest in scale, the one-bedroom and one-bathroom home is the ultimate blending of tradition and modernism, allowing direct connections outward as a celebration of an outdoor lifestyle. With a history that is deeply rooted within the Spanish Catalan area, it was integral that those traditions carried through into the new chapter of the home. With interior design and styling completed by Allprace Homes, it was integral that the efforts connected back to the building’s origins.

With the Spanish mission style felt throughout, a distinct character and charm is experienced. Geometrical patterns, flowing curves and a connection to natural light ensures the spaces feel softly lit throughout the day, and natural ventilation plays a key role in cooling and tempering the spaces. Creating a delicate balance between a contemporary elevation and a grounding amid the surrounding arid landscape, a muted approach to the foundations of the home ensures the inserted elements are not able to overwhelm the architecture.

The overall mood is one of calm, with framed views out offering points of focus. Internally, the combination of intricate patterns and non-traditional elements adorning both the ceilings and floors injects the space with a subtle and interesting sense of movement. Equally as impressive and important to the home are the outdoor areas and rooms, and each act as its own destination. The design approach of Clyde is a direct reflection of the owner and their unwavering commitment to individuality and expression.

Amid a neighbourhood dominated by Spanish-style residences, Clyde pays a respectful homage to its architectural beginnings whilst introducing a playful and unexpected injection of modern elements. Allprace Homes adds a uniqueness, yet the warm and familiarity of the residence’s parts ensure the home remains welcoming.
