Leading Australian architecture, interior, furniture and lighting design studio Daniel Boddam Studio has proudly opened its first gallery-showroom in Collingwood, Melbourne. The by-appointment space houses luxury hand-crafted design, including the new Prism Collection.

Founded in Sydney in 2013, Daniel Boddam Studio champions a holistic approach to architecture, interior design and furniture, producing pieces with a sense of warmth and calm. Central to the studio’s philosophy is the concept of considered simplicity, whereby modest forms play a vital role in establishing a harmonious living environment. The new gallery – located in the inner-Melbourne suburb of Collingwood – invites visitors to engage with the brand’s core values, including originality, simplicity and respect.
“Our goal was to create a calm, meditative space,” says Director Daniel Boddam. “The historic Collingwood shopfront provides a humble canvas to present our furniture and lighting pieces amidst one of Melbourne’s most vibrant creative hubs.”

Taking pride of place is the new Prism Collection of furniture and décor from Daniel Boddam Studio.

Inside the gallery, considered simplicity is expressed through a minimal but warm design. A neutral putty colour provides a canvas across the walls, floor and ceiling, cocooning the artisanal works and increasing their presence as pieces of craftsmanship. Every quarter, a new configuration of products will be presented, demonstrating the breadth of the brand offering. Recent product innovations – such as the Lead Sconce, Hinterland Stool and Booham Chair – will form an ongoing feature.

Taking pride of place is the new Prism Collection of furniture and décor from Daniel Boddam Studio. Representing a thorough exploration of sacred geometry, the range of tables and candle holders indicates the development of prisms into organic, crystalline forms. The tables are defined by striking pyramidal structures with intersecting planes, separated by hollowed-out joints, while the candle holders present the same poetic form on a smaller scale. Timber materiality accentuates the unique combination of angular edges and soft curves, producing an expression that honours the ritual of dining. Architecturally designed and made to order by local artisans, the Prism Collection is available in several formats and entails sustainably forested timbers.

Gallery staff are on hand to gently guide a personalised experience of the showroom, providing valuable context for the narrative of each piece and discussing opportunities for customisation.

Complementing the interior of the gallery is a curation of art and décor from artists whose values align with Daniel Boddam Studio.
