On a busy corner in the gentrified inner-city Sydney suburb of Alexandria, Australian furniture company DOMO has found a new home. Testament to the brand’s growth over 40 years in operation, the new dual-level flagship space presents DOMO with the invaluable opportunity to showcase a full portfolio of contemporary and traditional furniture pieces.

With years of experience bringing some of the world’s most highly sought-after furniture and lighting brands to the Australian market, DOMO is no stranger to the process of converting a house to a home. So, when it came to selecting a new premises for the Sydney flagship store, the company drew on this wealth of knowledge to create its own ideal home. Large in both atmosphere and physical presence, the Alexandria showroom spans over 2,000 square metres of floor space, spreading out across two light-filled levels. The new space provides the opportunity to bring together DOMO’s entire offering of contemporary and traditional furniture pieces across the indoor and outdoor realms, including living, bedroom, dining, study and occasional as well as lighting and homewares.

Designed to inspire industry professionals and design lovers alike, the new showroom represents DOMO’s most ambitious physical undertaking to date, a natural follow-up to the successful launch of the Melbourne flagship in 2021. Much like in Melbourne, the company took its time selecting the perfect location for the showroom, finally landing on O’Riordan Street in the heart of the creative hub that is Alexandria.

The natural synergies between DOMO and the suburb where the new showroom is located are ever-present. Much like the progressive designs for which DOMO has become so widely known, Alexandria has developed a reputation within the Sydney design community for being unashamedly individual while offering access to the world of design – minus the natural hubris of some of Sydney’s more established suburbs. The creative yet inclusive nature of the industrial fabric of Alexandria is very much on brand for DOMO, a company that takes great pride in friendly in-store customer service.
