With the landscape of physical retail spaces constantly changing, a boutique needs to leave the buyer affected in some tangible way. Ena Pelly Armadale does just that with Studio Tate’s thoughtful design. The flagship store combines the calmness of a wellness space with the considered detailing of a gallery.

“The design seeks to represent some of the key hallmarks of Ena Pelly products, being crafted, modern and elevated,” says Liz Ride, associate director at Studio Tate. “These are all translated through the materiality, form and detail of the interior elements.” Idyllically positioned alongside other flagship boutiques in Melbourne’s inner south, Ena Pelly Armadale meets both the desire and demand for a retail space reflective of the label. As a brand that has been built upon the fusion of fashion and architecture, the retail space and experience needed to reflect and embody this integral connection.

Vein-cut travertine, stainless steel and terrazzo details work alongside beautifully rendered walls and a neutral, muted palette. This considered material scheme allows the collections to be highlighted while also supporting the underlying ethos of the fashion label. “We wanted to imbue a sense of modern luxury – effortless yet elevated style,” says Ena Pelly co-founder and creative director Danielle Wilkins. “Our vision was for customers to experience a feeling of ease and exceptional quality when they step into our world.”
