Using the original Lexi range as a springboard and the strong design language of minimalist architecture as inspiration, Phoenix Tapware has released Lexi MKII, a new range of mixers and outlets with a streamlined, linear profile.

With a minimalist aesthetic made up of clean lines and industrial-style detailing, Lexi MKII is an evolution of Phoenix Tapware’s celebrated Lexi range. The lines of the collection are based around the composition of two geometric structures, explains Phoenix design lead Ban Lui, who created the range with his Melbourne-based team. “The cylindrical bodies and rectangular forms of the pin handle and spout create a harmonious design that blends comfortably in any modern setting,” he says. “With a stronger design language, Lexi MKII’s slender outlet is achieved through a unique rectangular aerator for basin products, or flow straightener for bath outlets. The pin lever handle features a delicately recessed button, creating a fine line detail around the body of the handle.”

The sophisticated end result is due in part to the elongated pin handles on the Lexi MKII range, which sit vertically, adding a rigorous, engineering element to the tapware. With versatility in mind, the range comes in three finishes: brushed nickel, chrome and matte black. As it encompasses both round and square features, it fits well with a host of interior design styles and can be easily paired with a number of Phoenix’s other ranges, such as Vivid Slimline accessories.

Energy savings are key to the development of the Lexi MKII, with Cold Start cartridge technology featured in the basin and vessel mixers, both of which have been awarded a WELS 6-star rating for water efficiency. Cold Start technology means that cold water flows immediately when the tap is in the mid-lever position, so energy is not wasted on unnecessary water heating. Further waste is prevented by precise and intuitive water flow control.

Phoenix Tapware’s products are designed in Melbourne by its in-house Design and R&D team, which collectively boasts over 150 years of experience in the industry. The team has been recognised many times for excellence in design and innovation over the company’s 30-year history, and the new Lexi MKII has already picked up a Red Dot and iF® Design Award. This adds to the team’s long list of accolades, which includes a ‘Best of the Best’ Red Dot for the Axia Collection. Like all Phoenix collections, the Lexi MKII is manufactured to a high standard of quality and backed by comprehensive warranties.
