Designed by MHN Design Union, Fontaine’s architecture pays homage to Vaucluse’s rich architectural heritage through its sculpted form and timeless material palette. The facade features rendered walls, dark metal detailing and sandstone elements, grounding it within the local streetscape. “Curved front balconies nod to the area’s historical architectural styles while embracing their modern resurgence,” says Brian Meyerson, principal director of MHN Design Union. “These elegant forms are complemented by lush landscaping that spills into sunken terraces, further grounding the building in its natural context and softening its street presence.” Extensive glazing captures panoramic harbour views, transforming these vistas into art-like backdrops within the homes while also optimising ventilation and natural light.

Sustainability is central to Fontaine’s design. “Fontaine embraces a holistic approach to sustainability, leveraging its site orientation to optimise passive design,” says Meyerson. “North-facing living spaces maximise sunlight, while expansive glazing promotes cross-ventilation, reducing reliance on artificial systems. Durable, long-lasting materials form the building’s exterior, ensuring its longevity and resilience. Additional measures – including a rooftop photovoltaic system and rainwater harvesting for the extensive landscaping – underscore Fontaine’s commitment to environmentally conscious living.”

Inside, Mim Design has crafted interiors that exude calm and refinement. Drawing inspiration from Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, an exquisite natural spring in southern France, the palette combines natural stones, mirrored accents and glass details to create a luminous and layered aesthetic. Grand proportions, high ceilings and seamless transitions to outdoor spaces define the residences, while hidden design details and artisanal finishes elevate the sense of luxury.

The kitchens, a centrepiece of each home, balance functionality and artistry. Sculpted island benches mirror the curved forms of the architecture, while premium appliances and ample storage ensure practicality without compromising style. In the primary bedrooms, full-height windows, wool carpets and bespoke joinery create tranquil retreats that prioritise comfort and elegance.

“What sets Fontaine apart from other luxury developments in Sydney’s property market is its unique combination of location, design and attention to detail.”

For Dare Property Group, Fontaine represents its dedication to creating exceptional residences. David Avidan, the group’s operations manager, emphasises the importance of balancing design excellence with a profound connection to the surroundings. “Vaucluse was chosen as the location due to its prestigious and serene environment, which perfectly aligns with our vision for a luxurious living experience,” he says. “What sets Fontaine apart from other luxury developments in Sydney’s property market is its unique combination of location, design and attention to detail, or the Three Vs – Village, View and Villa.”

Fontaine combines an enviable location, thoughtful architecture and bespoke interiors. The collaboration between Dare Property Group and leading architecture and design studios exemplifies how a shared vision can create architecture that resonates deeply with both residents and the surrounding environment.
