Established in 2004, GlobeWest furniture has long stood by a philosophy of design diversity, underpinned by the belief that every home and every person is unique. GlobeWest’s Collections 2023 pay homage to homes of all styles and signatures, from classic, eclectic and retreat to modern and contemporary.

The latest launch of 22 new collections and over 750 new products is a compelling case in point. “The desire for creating comfort and connection in the home isn’t going anywhere, but we’re seeing this extra layer of boldness and personality come  through. Playing with angles, handcrafted silhouettes and oversized cushioning emboldens spaces, yet still welcomes rest and renewal,” explains GlobeWest’s Head of Creative, Keti Lytras, continuing, “tactile surfaces, architectural influences and organic forms add a sense of  presence to interiors.”

The new offerings coincide with the launch of GlobeWest’s 2023 Design Directions Forecast, a roadmap that reflects its vision for the future of Australian interiors. In keeping with its ethos of embracing colour and texture and celebrating surroundings, GlobeWest’s new repertoire of furniture and objects is a diverse mix of styles, scales and signatures. Sophisticated profiles meet voluminous seating. Fluted forms cut a dramatic contrast against soft silhouettes. Handcrafted, textured metals beautifully counterbalance natural oak and other solid timbers. There are layers to the neutrals: the Viola marble is tactile and warm, while the textured weaves of the bouclé carry starry hints of colour. Hushed tones of saltbush, pearl and pecan are enlivened by cognac, dijon and desert tones. Here, muted and moody belong in equal measure.

Most noteworthy of all in GlobeWest’s 2023 launch is the depth and diversity of its indoor collections. The Bodie collection is characterised by a modern oak-and-rattan construction across coffee and side tables. With a curvilinear silhouette and a tactile presence, it channels an earthy, natural vibe. In a similar display of understated elegance, is the Chloe collection, which, with its soft edges, woven panelled drawers and soft gold handles, exudes a classic charm. The range is composed of a buffet, an entertainment unit, a console and a bedside table.

There is a distinct architectural flair to some of the collections. Oliver, for instance, is a lesson in elevated minimalism. With a range constituting a buffet, a bedside table and an entertainment unit, the collection is defined by raised dowel legs, fluted linear doors and shadow line handles. Bold displays of twilight blue and neutral tones dovetail nicely with the natural ash and putty. In a departure from Oliver, new case goods collection Orion cuts a mid-century modernist avatar, presenting in the way of a coffee table, a side table, a buffet and a console. Rich tones of teak dominate the collection, whilst twisted, etched detailing on the pillar legs offers a retro spin.

In a nod to Parisian design, the Celeste collection is a study in elegant form. The consoles, coffee tables and side tables feature handcrafted, textured black metal in the form of wavy hairpin legs. The designs are crowned by inset marble tops in white or galaxy marble. The classic flourishes are mirrored in the Ophelia collection, whose handcrafted artisanal metal frames and tapered cross legs set it apart as a collector’s delight. The collection constitutes a coffee table and a side table, which wear an inset marble top or black mango wood finish.

In keeping with its ethos of embracing colour and texture and celebrating surroundings, GlobeWest’s new repertoire of furniture and objects is a diverse mix of styles, scales and signatures.

In an embodiment of infinity, the Kin collection never ends – at least not in curvature. Inspired by its namesake, the collection symbolises togetherness in round and oval dining tables. The legs are sculptural yet slender and the table underside curves in a smooth, gradual fashion. A reverse diamond veneer pattern, meanwhile, emblazons the round dining table. The Piper collection, also composed of dining tables, is crafted of natural oak. It offers four unique silhouettes with bold statement bases and chamfered edge detailing.

Effortless, elevated designs characterise the Heidi collection. Its smooth and sophisticated profile is displayed across a buffet, a TV unit, a bedside table, a desk and a drawer unit. With soft edges and a shadow line top, its concave curves are subtle yet dignified. The collection parlays quite nicely into Almos,  a range of tailored headboards with breezy silhouettes, folded cushion details, channel tufting and solid wood embellishments – each suited to any style of interior.

“The desire for creating comfort and connection in the home isn’t going anywhere, but we’re seeing this extra layer of boldness and personality come through. Playing with angles, handcrafted silhouettes and oversized cushioning emboldens spaces, yet still welcomes rest and renewal,” says GlobeWest’s Head of Creative, Keti Lytras.

For GlobeWest, the new collections are rooted in a plural sense of purpose, serving as an extension of a long-held emphasis on design diversity. Cultivating an elevated ethos, Collections 2023 speak to aspirations of connectedness and what it means today to live well.
