With Hampden, Rob Mills Architecture & Interiors has crafted a haven for elevated living through minimalist design and carefully chosen furnishings from Living Edge.

Hampden is an exclusive collection of nine private residences located in Melbourne’s Armadale, one of Australia’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, and created by Rob Mills Architecture & Interiors (RMA). With every detail meticulously attended to, from the exterior to the interior, the design draws inspiration from the suburb’s unique character, incorporating familiar materials, a delicate brick facade and an abundance of lush greenery.

“The architecture and interiors of Hampden provide an impressive canvas for furniture and product, calling for a gentle and layered approach.”

To turn a client’s new Hampden apartment into a serene retreat while maintaining both style and functionality, RMA enlisted the expertise of Living Edge. Tristan Treeby, the company’s A&D residential consultant, responded to the brief by selecting a striking array of Walter Knoll furniture, complemented by accent pieces from Herman Miller, e15 and Flos. The material palette was deliberately chosen to be soft and neutral, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere.

“The architecture and interiors of Hampden provide an impressive canvas for furniture and product, calling for a gentle and layered approach,” says Treeby. “The final result is quiet, yet rich and tactile, where the ultimate experience is found in subtle detail.” With Walter Knoll, the homeowners can experience high-quality furniture that embodies an inherent desire to create a serene and welcoming space. The heart of the dining and kitchen area features the Tadeo table in solid white oak, elegantly accompanied by Saddle chairs, both by EOOS for Walter Knoll. Complementing this set-up, Saddle stools have been positioned at the bar for a cohesive, inviting look.

In the living area, a Jaan sofa is paired with an Andoo high back lounge chair, Joco coffee table and a Geiger Crosshatch lounge chair, establishing a well-defined, convivial space for relaxing and gathering. Next to the sofa, e15’s Kaisa side table stands out with its unique character, offering captivating details and reflections from every angle.
