Renowned for its high-end and minimalist tableware, Studio Enti is stepping into a new realm of design with the launch of its first lighting collection. The Sydney-based ceramics studio, celebrated for its sleek porcelain creations, is expanding its repertoire to illuminate spaces with a blend of elegance and functionality.

Owner and designer Naomi Taplin has long desired to integrate lighting into the studio’s permanent collection. “Lighting as a sculptural fixture offers so much,” she says. This sentiment underscores both the detailed craftsmanship and the thoughtful approach behind Studio Enti’s creations. Each piece is envisioned not just as a luminaire but as awork of art that interacts with space and light to evoke unique atmospheres.

Key to the studio’s collection is the aesthetic allure of porcelain. “As a material, porcelain is such a beautiful, natural element to look at and to interact with,” Taplin says. “When you add the element of light, each piece comes to life with its own unique personality and character.” The interplay of light, texture, colour and dimension within porcelain allows for endless opportunities, shaping the mood and ambience of any room.

What distinguishes Studio Enti’s lighting is its blend of form and function. Each piece is crafted to offer both visual appeal and practicality. The Dusked Eos column light, for instance, casts upward and downward, making it ideal for illuminating practical spaces– such as hallways and bathrooms – while infusing them with a warm, inviting glow.

When directional lighting is desired, the Dusked Evo wall light provides adjustable functionality, perfect for bedside reading or focused illumination in specific areas. Its classic form, coupled with a range of Studio Enti colours, ensures a seamless integration into various interior design schemes.

Among the studio’s stand-out offerings is the Eclipse circular wall sconce, evoking the soft glow of a full moon. Crafted from porcelain, this luminaire emanates a halo of warm ambient light, creating a captivating interplay of both shadows and illumination. Whether installed individually or grouped together, the Eclipse sconce transforms living spaces, hallways and bedrooms into enchanting sanctuaries.

Similarly, the Crescent wall sconce emulates a waxing moon, radiating a gentle arc of light that can be directed upwards or downwards. Its flush design ensures minimal light spill, emphasising the beautiful combination of form and function inherent in Studio Enti’s creations.

What sets the studio’s new lighting collection apart is the commitment to customisation and craftsmanship. Each piece can be tailored to meet the needs of the client, from size and colour to hardware variation. This approach ensures that every light blends in well with its environment, elevating the feel and functionality of a given space. With streamlined style and timeless appeal, these pieces are poised to redefine contemporary lighting design, brightening spaces with a sense of refinement.
