Since the late 1990s, Spanish brand Inclass has been creating contemporary furniture for public and private spaces, pieces that are characterised by timeless forms, deep functionality and a refined aesthetic.

Inclass works in collaboration with a roster of leading international designers, with Australian furniture consultancy ownworld offering Inclass’s entire collection to the Australian market, with popular ranges held in stock.

The latest in-stock arrival to ownworld is the Arum stacking armchair, which was designed for Inclass by renowned Italian studio Archirivolto. The chair is lightweight, comfortable and elegantly curved, with a steel frame and polypropylene seat and backrest; some 44 per cent of its materiality is recycled and the chair itself is 98 per cent recyclable. Describing the Arum, Archirivolto’s co-founder Claudio Dondoli says its “enveloping backrest is pleasant to the touch, fluid and ergonomic, while the seat is shaped as smooth as a river stone”.

British industrial designer Jonathan Prestwitch is the talent behind the Essens table bases – versatile, adaptable pieces that are highly sculptural in form. Essens consists of 100 per cent recyclable polyethylene bases that allow tables to be composed in an endless variety of formats and sizes. The bases are interchangeable and can be used individually or as a multi-base system, allowing users to create varying table lengths. ownworld stocks four base sizes, and tops can be made locally to required specifications for delivery in four to six weeks.

Equally versatile is the Varya range of multipurpose chairs, the work of another Brit, award-winning London-based designer Simon Pengelly. The customisation possibilities of this elegant and refined chair are almost endless: different chairs can be created by combining the thermoplastic seat shell with an extensive range of bases, in either wood or metal, making them ideal for a diverse array of settings.

ownworld, which has been working with Inclass since 2016, imports and manufactures seating, lounges, tables, desks, lighting and storage for both commercial and residential projects.

Another outstanding selection in the ownworld curation is the Wudi lounge chair that melds rounded retro lines with contemporary finishing. The work of Spain’s Francesc Rifé Studio, the solid wood collection was inspired by the shape of oars, with the elegant oak armrests offset by a contrasting leather or fabric backrest detail reminiscent of sails.
