Despite the home’s New York City location, Lower East Side Condo by Bespoke Only captures a quiet resonance. Permeated with a dynamic warmth, the interior feels distinct and peaceful, evoking the essence of a timeless refuge in a contemporary landscape.

Situated on the Lower East Side, the two-bedroom condo took inspiration from the idea of a modern day treehouse. Completed in 2024, the renovation consisted of a full-floor construction, seeing special attention given to both storage and character. As the first home for a young couple, it was vital that the interior was embedded with a natural warmth that leaned into quiet moments of tranquillity. The notion of the ‘treehouse’ ultimately became the foundation for the dwelling’s design, allowing the choice of materials to play a vital role in shaping its aesthetic.

Leaning heavily into the treehouse theme, timber features authentically throughout the home. The material lends itself to feelings of shelter, protection and safety, drawing direct parallels with the physicalness of a modern day treehouse. Similarly, the timber elements help to create a clear connection to nature, one that is not always found within the hustle and bustle of city landscapes. The material also emphasises warmth, its tonality providing the perfect setting for the residence to unfold, while the ceiling’s calming white ensures the interior spaces never lack depth. Cooler moments – such as textured fabric and sculptural lighting elements – juxtapose calmly within, never taking over but rather drawing one further inside. Likewise, the kitchen’s marble splashback aids in encapsulating the interior’s natural and tactile character. The abode’s large windows provide ample light, ensuring the space never feels overrun by the timber.

As a New York City apartment, Lower East Side Condo needed to maximise its floor plan, seeing the home utilise as much space as possible. A focal point for the brief was to maximise storage solutions, achieved through expansive cupboard spaces in the kitchen and built-in joinery. There are plenty of moments of surprise found in the dwelling’s storage elements as well. From reading nooks with eye-catching wallpaper to a raised bookshelf, there is not a moment of unused floor space within the condo.

With idyllic views down to New York City’s iconic streetscape, Lower East Side Condo by Bespoke Only is instilled with personality and poise. Despite being a brand new apartment, the interior speaks to an undeniable sense of timelessness, felt specifically through an emphasis on craft, material and modern sensibilities.
