McMullin & co. is an Australian design and furniture studio founded on the simple principle of combining modern simplicity with uncompromising detail. Grounded in Founder Alice McMullin’s passion for minimal, considered and sustainable design, the McMullin & co. design ethos comes from a long-held interest in consistently questioning how we move and interact in the spaces we inhabit. Speaking of McMullin & co.’s identity, Alice says, “There’s a restfulness to it, a calm.”

Since founding the studio in 2018, Alice attests to a movement towards more individual forms of expression. Her unwavering focus remains on quality, ensuring pieces withstand the test of time by transcending the unpredictable ebbs and flows of trends.

Pushing the boundaries of form and function, the newest collection, Element, reimagines staple pieces for the home.

McMullin & co.’s showroom inhabits its spot amid the diverse urban landscape of Marrickville, Sydney, and is where the company’s online and physical presences seamlessly unite. In opening the showroom, Alice sought to foster a community within the design world.

Pushing the boundaries of form and function, the newest collection, Element, reimagines staple pieces for the home. Using a mix of unorthodox shapes and unconventional fabrications, while maintaining McMullin & co.’s penchant for timeless and versatile design, the collection further explores a whole-home offering.

The Chrome range is inspired by a sense of understated confidence to reflect and connect with our natural surroundings.

The Chrome and Simətrē collections further represent the company’s identity. The Chrome range is inspired by a sense of understated confidence to reflect and connect with our natural surroundings. The metal’s brutalist construction is balanced by delicate curves, lines and silhouettes, and each piece has its own distinct dimples and ripples. Simətrē then explores eccentric geometric shapes, forms and raw materials. It offers a counterbalance to a typically symmetric view of life, suggesting that asymmetry is often far more compelling than perfection.

As with each considered piece in the McMullin & co. stable, Element is a step towards the brand’s journey to offering a complete home collection. Thoughtfully crafted with McMullin& co.’s distinct and considered mindset, the latest range offers a whole-home solution to those seeking a neutral aesthetic with sophisticated impact and sustainable intentions.
