Nodi is built on the belief that what lies underfoot defines our spaces and shapes how we live within them. Founded in 2014 by Olivia Moon, the New Zealand company approaches its collection of carpet and rugs through a sensory lens, with a particular focus on craft and natural materials. Fibre, texture and tone guide its creative processes, resulting in pieces that feel grounded and crafted with the rhythms of daily life in mind.

“Our new palette offers a middle ground: colours that feel anchored and liveable while bringing depth and character to a space without overwhelming it.”

Colour, within the Nodi world, is approached with the same honest intention. Rather than a statement or trend, it becomes a matter of atmosphere, something felt as much as seen. “Colour is often perceived as high-risk in contemporary interiors – seen as either too trend-led or overly expressive – leading to a reliance on ‘safe’ neutrals,” Moon explains. “Our new palette offers a middle ground: colours that feel anchored and liveable while bringing depth and character to a space without overwhelming it.” The new tones of tobacco, khaki and aubergine echo the design language of the natural fibres of each carpet and rug, evoking warmth and comfort.

The hues are drawn from natural pigments and the patina of aged materials, reflecting the essence of Nodi’s collections. They have been conceived to add atmosphere and nuance to interiors. Wool and bamboo silk absorb and diffuse pigment, softening its impact and allowing colour to settle into a room rather than sit on top of it. Texture further tempers each hue, giving it a lived-in quality that shifts with light, time and use.

All of Nodi’s carpets and rugs are handwoven from natural fibres using time-honoured techniques.

“The aubergine is a deep plum with warm undertones, khaki is a muted olive-brown with green undertones while tobacco is a rich, earthy brown with warm red undertones,” Moon says. “Together, they create a palette that feels elevated, luxurious and perfectly on trend.”

All of Nodi’s carpets and rugs are handwoven from natural fibres using time-honoured techniques. Subtle variations emerge across colour and texture through this process, bringing a warmth and individuality that machine production cannot replicate. The full carpet collection carries the highest Australian Carpet Classification Scheme (ACCS) rating for residential living.

The aubergine, khaki and tobacco colourways are available across multiple collections: as rugs in both the Bamboo Silk & Wool and Tip Sheared Wool ranges, and as carpets in the Cut Pile Wool and Tip Sheared Wool series. With all of these variations, the new palette remains consistent in tone and intent, adapting to each texture without losing its sense of restraint.
